Glenside Middle School Families -
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We are looking forward to having the students back to school, as well as an excellent year!
Over the course of the past several weeks, teachers have been preparing for our students to return to school as they are setting up classrooms, preparing lesson plans and materials, and making sure they are ready to start the year. Our custodial staff has prepared the building for the arrival of the students, making sure that everything is set up and ready to go, and keeping safety as the number one priority. In the office, we have been busy creating schedules, registering students, and preparing for the year to start. It is an exciting time at Glenside Middle School.
As we approach the start of the year, which begins on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, we wanted to inform everyone that the first day of school is a half day. School is scheduled from 8:08 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. During the first day of school we will have a modified bell schedule. All students will report to their advisory class to start the day. During the advisory block, students will be assigned a locker, provided an agenda, and welcomed by their specific advisory teacher. During the morning, each grade level will also spend time meeting with school administrators as a welcome to Glenside, as well as to offer our support and guidance throughout the year.
In regards to schedules, parents and students can access and print schedules through Skyward. The Skyward link can be found on the Queen Bee District 16 homepage, as well as the Glenside Middle School homepage. We will also have copies of student schedules available for the students when they arrive to their advisory class. Please take time to review your child’s schedule with them to identify their advisory class and room number. This will be a huge help to start the first day.
Lastly, thank you for everything you do for your children each day. As a school, we look forward to partnering with everyone to make this year as successful as possible. Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
Thank you,
Ed Garza
