Hello! My name is Skyler VerHagen and I am a fifth grade teacher here at Glenside Middle School. I graduated from Illinois State University in December of 2021. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and am currently finishing my ESL endorsement. I student taught for fifth grade in Lombard, and loved it so much that I dreamed of my own fifth grade classroom. I'm living my dream! I now have my own classroom and I am so excited to spend my first year of teaching with your students. 

Through my experience with teaching, I have developed a love for building a classroom community where all students feel welcome to be their true self, as well as social and emotional learning. I want everyone that walks into my classroom to feel as comfortable and accepted as possible.
