Food Service to Queen Bee Families

Parent Online Ordering for Meals

Following the Thanksgiving break, we will no longer require parents to place pre-orders for school lunches online.  Parent orders were extremely helpful as we prepared for the start of the school year, however, at this time our meal counts have stabilized.  Please note that it will still be required for students to place their meal order in the classroom with their teachers daily.  These numbers are critical to provide the appropriate number of meals to each school.

Food Supply Chain Issues

School meal programs nationwide, including our food service providers, are experiencing many of the same supply chain issues that have impacted restaurants and grocery stores. Specifically, we are experiencing shortages in beef, chicken, cereal products, and supplies. This has prompted our Food and Nutrition Services team to source alternate options and utilize emergency allowances from the Illinois State Board of Education to stock up on bulk orders.

Similar to shoppers making substitutions on their grocery lists, our schools will need to continue making last-minute changes to our regular menus in response to these supply challenges. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as these changes are made.

We will continue to keep our parents up to date on any menu modifications on the Nutrition page of our district website. Please see the video below for a further explanation from the School Nutrition Association.
